SOUTH FORSYTH H.S. SWIM & DIVE

Hey! My name is Emmie Letsch! I am a senior this year and this is my fourth year of being on the swim team. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be a captain this year and I know it is going to be such an amazing season. My favorite memory has been the county meet each year just because I get to see the team support each other and everyone is just so energetic. I also LOVE the holiday practices because of all the fun things we do. I am so excited to see what this season holds for our team!💙

Hi! My name is Lyla Setzer! I am a senior at SFHS and this is my 4th year on the team. I am so excited to be a captain this year and to meet all of our new swimmers! Some of my favorite memories at swim have been getting to know everyone at practice, cheering on my teammates at meets, and the incredible energy at county!!

Little message for anyone trying out: It’s okay to be nervous I was nervous too. But pls don’t freak out it is really no pressure AT ALL. Stay positive and try your best! You will do great!!

My name is Oliver Van Peteghem, and I am a senior at South Forsyth. This will be my fourth year on South Swim & Dive. One of my favorite team memories is my first travel meet, freshman year. I went with my older brother Julian, who was a senior, and he and all of his friends welcomed me so nicely and became my good friends, too. Everyone had a great time and was so supportive - in and out of the pool. I also got to race Julian, which was one of my favorite things to do. It never mattered which one of us won, which was usually him. Being on relays together was my other favorite thing - there is nothing like that teamwork energy. Going on that trip made me realize more than ever that swimming really is a team sport and that teamwork is just as important as individual performance. My goals are to welcome everyone to this team the way Julian welcomed me - and to challenge you the way he challenged me to work hard and have a great time with each other, as we all make this our best season yet!

Hello, my name is Andrew Lee. I'm a senior/captain on South's swim and dive team, and this will be my 4th year swimming on the team. Over the years, my favorite moment has been winning our county championship meet my freshman year. As I head toward my final year as a swimmer and as a captain, I'm looking forward to meeting the new swimmers and connecting with the team at our annual lake house hangout. Go South!
