Hello all! It is travel meet time!!! This email is long but please read it fully! 

For those who are new to the team- we try to go on an overnight travel swim/dive trip every year. The last three years we have gone to the University of Tennessee and swam but this year we are headed to Athens, GA to participate in the Clarke/ Oconee Invitational on 12/16/23 at UGA! This is an overnight trip- we will swim and dive on 12/16 and stay in a hotel and make our way back to South on Sunday! The travel meet will cost $125 a an athlete to cover food and travel expenses. 

Declaring: Coaches are only allowed to enter 4 athletes per event (& two relays per team)- I am asking that the swimmers choose their best events/ what they would like to swim at County! If more than 4 people choose the same event it will be up to the coaches to decide what you are swimming. I have to have entries submitted by FRIDAY! Therefore declaring closes at 4pm on Thursday so the Coaches have time to build relays. 

We will be traveling in style on a motor coach bus, which will have access to a bathroom, wifi to study, and so much more! 

I know it is in the middle of midterms but there will be time to study and we will be home on Sunday with time to study as well! 

**This is NOT a mandatory meet! However, there is a limit to how many swimmers & divers we are able to take on this travel meet, so in the case that more athletes want to attend then spots available, it is up to the coaches discretion on who makes the final travel meet roster!**

***This is a great experience that not every high school student/athlete gets to have in their 4 years.These travel meets have been the #1 memory makers for our SENIORS at our banquet and at Senior Night. For our seniors this year – this will be the perfect closure for your high school career!!!

** If you are chosen to participate, even though this meet is off campus ALL school and GHSA rules apply. You are representing SFHS and any breach of those rules will result in administrative and athletic consequences**

Deadline to declare: ASAP! Thursday 11/28 @ 4pm. NO EXCEPTIONS! 

Tentative Timeline: This will change once we have definitive warm-up times! 

12/16: 

7am meet at South to Travel to Athens 

12pm: Swimming and Diving warm ups 

1pm: Dive competition starts 

2pm: Swimming competition starts 

6pm: Dinner at the Hotel

7pm-11pm: Games, movies, desert, team bonding time!! 

Sunday 12/17: 

9am: breakfast at hotel & final team bonding activities 

Noon-ish head back to school!
